We encourage all new applicants to tell us about identified support needs. The information is treated in the strictest confidence and is only shared with relevant people. If you are already a student at South Cheshire College progressing on to a HE course you will have a key worker in Learner Services who is familiar with your individual support needs.
As part of the College commitment to make learning support available and accessible to all students we have a study skills workshop to offer you practical approaches for becoming a confident learner and help you improve the skills you will need, such as developing your English language for essays and assignments, building confidence in handling numerical data, and revision and exam techniques to boost your success.
You can drop in any time between 9am and 4pm (Wednesdays 9am - 1pm). You do not need to make an appointment.
As a student studying on a Higher Education course at South Cheshire College you will be eligible for the same financial support for tuition fees and student loans as those studying at university. However if you have a support need arising from a disability, health condition, mental health difficulty or specific learning difficulty (such as dyslexia) you may also need to apply for the Disabled Student's Allowance. DSAs can help pay for the extra costs of services and equipment to assist you in your studies. If you require help with your application or you need to arrange a specialist assessment please contact Learner Services on the numbers below.
The College has a team of specialist coordinators who can give advice and guidance and help you with your decision making. To discuss any learning support issues please contact:
