What's On The Course?

The IMI Technical Certificate is one of the most comprehensive motor vehicle learning programmes available. This internationally recognised qualification provides a standardised approach to the delivery and assessment of the underpinning knowledge requirements of NVQs/SVQs endorsed by the Motor Industry Training Council (MITC).

Advanced Level units covered on the Level 3 Diploma include the following:
  • Braking, steering and suspension
  • Engine Operation and fault diagnosis
  • Transmission system and fault diagnosis
  • Auxiliary systems and complete fault finding techniques

Who Is It Suitable For?

The Certificate is designed for students who:

1) Have completed a level 2 IMI Technical Certificate qualification
2) Wish to develop occupational knowledge and develop skills
3) Are undertaking an MITC Advanced or Foundation Modern Apprenticeship with a Technical Diploma requirement.
4) Do not have access to an NVQ/SVQ

By successfully completing their Certificate and developing a portfolio of learning achievement, students will be able to demonstrate the essential knowledge of appropriate NVQ/SVQ units.

What Are The Entry Requirements?

IMI Level 2 Diploma.

What Can I Do Next?

Students could progress into Higher Education, employment in the motor trade or start a modern apprenticeship with a motor dealer or service centre.
