COST

Tuition fees are free for this course (home students only). However for students aged 19+ there will be a fee (to be confirmed) which may be remitted if you are in receipt of certain benefits. Additional: Students are required to provide their own safety boots and safety goggles. Compulsory workwear of t-shirt (£6) and hooded sweatshirt (£16). Additionally, there is an optional Carpentry and Joinery Kit box (£120, which can be paid for by instalments).

What's On The Course?

This very practical course gives you the basic skills and knowledge for working in the wood trades, including the following units:

  • CC 1002K Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others 1
  • CC 1002S Information, quantities and communicating with others 1
  • CC 1003K Knowledge of building methods and construction technology 1

  • CC 1004K Know how to produce basic woodworking joints
  • CC 1004S Produce basic woodworking joints
  • CC 1005K Know how to maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools
  • CC 1005S Maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools
  • CC 1006K Know how to prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools

What Are The Entry Requirements?

Four GCSE grades D-G or above and a successful college interview.

What Can I Do Next?

Progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery.
