Subsidised travel is available to students aged under 19 years, studying full-time at the College and travelling on an approved route. You will be eligible for a bus pass if you live more than 3 miles away from the college. We have transport available on a number of routes throughout Cheshire and additional points on approved routes can be arranged according to student need. Details of how to apply will be sent to all applicants during the summer before starting college.
This downloadable booklet explains all the different buses and coaches available to get you to college; College Transport Information Booklet (96kb Adobe Acrobat File)
You can either complete the application form in the back of the booklet and send it to the Transport Co-ordinator, or download the Microsoft Word version (52kb) of the form and email it to us.
The College is currently arranging transport for the 2011-12 academic year and will publish the timetables here when done. As part of the College's ongoing Eco-Travel strategy, all students are strongly encouraged to make use of college/public transport, cycling and walking to get to and from college. Only students possessing a valid car parking permit are allowed to park on the College campus, which has limited parking facilities. The eligibility criteria for receiving a permit include such things as disability, distance from bus routes and a requirement to drop off/collect or visit dependants as part of the working day. Your application will be judged against these criteria, and only applicants who have a genuine need to use a car to come to college will be provided with a parking permit.
To apply for a permit, you need to complete the Parking Permit Form and return it to the Eco-Travel Co-ordinator, South Cheshire College, Dane Bank Avenue, Crewe, CW2 8AB. You will be notified early in the first term if you have been successful in your application, and if so, a permit will be made available for you to collect. Please note that students who start college unable to drive and pass their driving test in the year will not be issued with a permit until their second year.

The College encourages students and staff who live within 3 miles of the campus to maximise their environmental friendliness by cycling to college. We have plenty of cycle racks outside the Theatre building, and at the back of North and West buildings, and there are changing facilities in the sports area to enable cyclists to change before going to classes. As cycling increases amongst students and staff, more cycling facilities will be provided, so that there is always sufficient for the College's needs.
