The government funds training for Apprentices through South Cheshire College as a training provider, and most Apprentices are either trained on the job by a visiting assessor and/or through day release at the College.
Apprenticeships offer excellent on the job training which allows you to work with other experienced members of staff and obtain hands on experience. You will also complete a nationally recognised qualification which is relevant to your job.
From your employer, you can earn a wage of at least £95 per week, depending on your age. However many employers tend to pay more as you develop your skills. Employed Apprentices get at least 20 days paid holiday per year like other employees and this is on top of Bank Holidays.
You will have an allocated mentor whilst in the workplace who will support and guide you when carrying out your job and training. You will have study time both in the workplace and/or through attending a weekly day release at the College. An Individual Training Plan will set all the learning and development you need in order to complete the full apprenticeship framework.
Other Apprenticeship options may be available upon request. For more information and further details about Apprenticeships please contact the Training and Skills Advisor on +44 (0)1270 654654 (ext 876).
