Robin
Elias is one of the leading news professionals in the business. He is
Managing Editor of ITV News and was appointed as the launch editor for
the new Setanta Sport News Channel. The former roving reporter, who joined
ITV from Fleet Street in 1980, was programme editor of News at Ten for
more than five years and was in charge of output during the death of
Princess Diana in Paris and the World Trade Centre attacks in New York.
In his role as Managing Editor of ITV News he oversees staff recruitment
and promotions and is line manager for camera crews, editors and presenters.
He works closely with well-known news presenters Trevor McDonald and
Mark Austin. In our exclusive podcast Robin tells us more about his career in the news industry.
