At South Cheshire College we are committed to making our services
more accessible to all individuals. We are working towards
and support the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
and this website is constantly being reviewed with accessibility
in mind.

Browser Customisation
You can customise your browser to make it easier for you to use
the internet. Please follow the instructions below for the latest
pc internet browsers. This should work on most websites. If you
have problems changing your settings, use the Help menu in your
browser toolbar.
Internet Explorer Instructions (IE5.x +)

PERMANENTLY APPLY FONT AND COLOUR CHANGES
1)On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the General tab, select 'Accessibility'
3) Click on the three boxes to show ticks
4) Click on 'OK' |

ENLARGE TEXT
1) On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the General tab, select 'Accessibility'
3) Tick the 'Ignore font sizes specified on web
pages' check box
4) Click on 'OK'
5) On the browser menu select 'view'
6) Click 'text size'
7) Choose the size of text |

CHANGE TEXT AND BACKGROUND COLOUR
1) On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the General tab, select 'Colour'
3) Deselect the 'Use Windows Colours' tick box
4) Select the box next to 'Text' and choose a colour
5) Click on 'OK'
6) Select the box next to 'Background' and choose
a colour
7) Click on 'OK' |

PREVENT GRAPHICS AND IMAGES APPEARING
1) On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the 'Multimedia'
heading
3) Deselect the graphics options 'animations', 'videos',
'pictures' and 'images' by clicking on the boxes to remove
the ticks
4) Click on 'Apply' then 'OK' |

CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE WINDOW
1) On the browser View menu select 'Full screen'
or press F11 |

CHANGE THE COLOUR OF LINKS
DISPLAYED ON A SCREEN
1) On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the General tab, select 'Accessibility'
3) Click on 'Select ignore colours specified on
Web pages' (should contain a tick)
4) Click 'OK'
5) Select 'General' tab and click on 'Colours'
6) Turn off the 'Use hover colours' tick box (should
not contain a tick)
7) Select 'Visited' and choose the colour that suits
you best, Click OK
8) Select 'Not Visited' and choose the colour that
suits you best, Click OK
9) Select 'OK' for 'Colours'
10) Select 'OK' for 'Internet Options' |

OTHER OPTIONS
Other options such as removing animation are available:
1) On the browser Tools menu select 'Internet Options'
2) On the Advanced tab choose any of the options
available to improve the visibility of the web pages.
If you have any problems changing your browser settings,
use the Help menu in your browser toolbar. |
Netscape Navigator Instructions (V4.x +)

ENLARGE TEXT
1) Click on 'Edit' and select 'Preferences'
2) Select 'Appearance' and click on 'Font'
3) Choose the settings that you want
4) Click on 'OK'
To set these fonts for all future use, click the option
that disallows use of any other fonts in a web page. |

1) Click on 'Edit' and select 'Preferences'
2) Select 'Appearance' and click on 'Colours'
3) Select the box next to 'Text' and choose a colour
4) Click on 'OK'
5) Select the box next to 'Background' and choose
a colour
6) Click on 'OK'
7) Click 'OK' to close the 'Preferences' window
To set these this as your browser default, click on the
option that allows you to use these chosen colours, ignoring
the colours and background image specified by the web page. |
